Margaret Atala — A True Disciple of Jesus!

At 80 years old, Margaret Atala stands as a radiant testimony of God’s transforming love and faithfulness. With eyes full of kindness, she moves through life with the quiet strength of someone who has weathered many storms—and who has come through stronger on the other side.

Margaret is a devoted disciple of Jesus. She has been a part of our discipleship program since the very beginning, faithfully attending classes and soaking in God’s Word. Over the years, she has grown in both knowledge and faith. “I used to not have an easy life,” she says. “It was a tough kind of life, and with much loneliness. But discipleship taught me so much about God’s love and gave me true friends.”

Indeed, her life has not been marked by ease, but by endurance. A widow with no children of her own, Margaret might have been tempted to retreat into solitude. Instead, she opened her heart to the children in need around her. She has become a mother figure to many—paying school fees, offering encouragement, and creating a home where love flourishes.

Margaret's life also took a remarkable turn when she joined our farming project. She embraced the work wholeheartedly, cultivating soybeans with skill and care. The harvest has not only improved her health and sustained her needs—providing enough for medicine, food, clothing, and home improvements—but it has also given her the joy of helping others.

When she speaks of her journey, Margaret is quick to give credit where it’s due: “I am so grateful for what God has done in my life.” Her voice is steady, not shaken by age or challenge. In fact, she seems stronger than ever—rooted in Scripture, surrounded by the love of a community she once longed for, and living a life that blesses others daily.

Margaret Atala may be 80, but she is far from slowing down. With every child she helps, every seed she plants, and every Word of God she treasures, she is building a legacy of faith, generosity, and quiet strength—as a true disciple of Jesus!

"Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!"
