Ritah was born into a family of eight children, including two sets of twins, of which Ritah and her sister are one. Both of her parents are still alive, but the father is sick with Tuberculosis, and, though he is a teacher by profession, he is unable to work due to his illness. The mother struggles to provide for her children’s basic needs, and sending them to school on her own is out of the question. Both Ritah and her twin, Sharon, have been a part of EWT’s sponsorship program since 2012.
Ritah is a bright student who performs well in school. She is a quiet, sensitive girl who cares deeply about the feelings of others. Her social worker describes her as “perceptive, loving, peaceful, and helpful.” He also says, “She is a lovely girl who is always smiling,” which is something she used to not be able to do. Ritah was very involved in EWT’s Power-Up Program, where she helped vulnerable widows through service projects. She is also devoted to studying and journaling through the Bible on her own.
Now, Ritah is making the transition from primary to secondary school, and she needs someone to sponsor her boarding. You may never know how much you and your help will mean to Ritah, but rest assured that your love will change her life and will teach her so much about the love of Jesus.
