When we first visited, we found Sharon’s mother sick and without treatment, and Sharon herself also in poor health. Sharon is the youngest of six, and her family survives mainly through subsistence farming. It was immediately clear the household falls into disarray when her mother is unwell. Her father struggles with alcoholism and sells much of the family’s produce to support his addiction. Her mother shared that only a miracle could help him change.
Sharon was only four years old when she joined the EWT Child Sponsorship Program. She has a wonderful disposition and is an active participant in all her classes. She is hardworking both at home and at school and is an especially big help to her mother. Though her father continues to struggle with alcoholism, her mother is now an active member of our Discipleship Program.
Sharon recently completed her primary education and has begun secondary school. She now needs a boarding sponsor to help with the additional costs of this level of education. Sponsoring Sharon will help keep her life on a good path and will bring renewed hope to her weary mother.
Sharon needs a boarding sponsor for $35/month.
