Norman Ogwal

Grade: Secondary 1

Sex: Male

Location: Abongomola, Northern Uganda

Sponsorship Need: Education/Boarding

Norman is the middle child in a family of five children from Northern Uganda. In 2024, his father began experiencing severe pain on the left side of his abdomen. He was taken to several hospitals, but no clear diagnosis was ever made. Some doctors suspected ulcers and attempted treatment, but his condition did not improve. Since then, he has continued to struggle with his health and is frequently in and out of the hospital.

Because of his illness, Norman’s father is no longer able to work in the garden to support the family. As they rely entirely on farming for their livelihood, this has left Norman’s mother as the sole provider. This responsibility has been overwhelming for her, as she must provide daily meals and pay school fees for all five of her children. She has shared that the burden feels too heavy for her to manage alone, and she fears she will not be able to send Norman to secondary school without help.

Throughout primary school, Norman was one of the top performers in his class and an active member of the NISSI Gospel Team. He was recommended by our superintendent of schools to receive a scholarship for his secondary education. Sponsoring Norman would not only support a hardworking and devoted mother but would also give a bright and determined young man the opportunity to pursue his God-given potential.

Norman needs an education or boarding sponsor for $35/month, or both for $70/month.
