Children who need a Sponsor

Sponsorship Need: Education/Boarding

Naume’s mother has struggled to take care of the family since the father abandoned them twelve years ago. The older children in the family all live far away and do not make any contributions to care for their younger siblings. The youngest five children, including Naume, live with their mother in a very vulnerable state.

Two years ago, Naume’s mother was diagnosed with a heart condition, which has left the family in an even weaker position than it was before. It has made accessing enough food difficult, and school fees have been out of the question. For two years in a row, Naume did not have the funds to complete her primary education. The administrators at school had taken notice of how intelligent she was and, at the end of the second year, allowed her to participate in the leaving exams. Ultimately, these year-end test results showed her to be among the very top performers of her class.

Because of her diligence and academic excellence, our school superintendent has nominated Naume to be one of the students who receives a scholarship that will cover her secondary education. Your support will make it possible for this bright girl to walk into a bright future, and it will shine the love of Jesus on a family of great need of His light.

Christopher is one of the youngest in a family of seven siblings. His parents have been married for 26 years, and his father, Patrick, was a healthy leader in the church until he came down with a mysterious illness in 2010. He visited several hospitals for treatment, but they were unable to help him, and he became paralyzed from his legs to his chest. This left him not only unable to work, but as barely able to move independently at all. He must be carried to go out for fresh air or to relieve himself.

Since this illness began, most of the family’s small income has gone towards Patrick’s medical bills, and they have had to sell almost all their property, including cows, goats, and land. As the sole provider, Christopher’s mother has struggled to pay for food for her family and for fees to educate her children. Christopher has been laying bricks so that he might earn money to support his own education and begin secondary school.

Christopher is one of the top achievers in his class, and he has been nominated by our school superintendent to receive a scholarship that will help him cover his tuition. He is a humble, respectful, hardworking, and obedient boy. We have no doubt that Christopher will honor your gift as he pursues his studies and steps into his God-given potential.

Charity’s father abandoned her and her mother when she was only five months old. Since then, the two of them have been on their own, and Charity’s mother has farmed in her garden to sell the harvest. She has managed to scrape by with enough to fund Charity’s primary school years, but she told us that, on her own, she would be unable to send her to secondary this year.

Fees are considerably higher for secondary school than primary. With no help, Charity would have to take at least a year off from school to save up enough for tuition. However, because she has excelled in her studies and because she stands out among her peers as exceptionally bright and hardworking, our school superintendent has recommended Charity to receive a scholarship as reward for her skills and diligence.

Your sponsorship will offer much-needed rest for a tired mother, who has had no one to lean on for a very long time, if ever. More than this, you will be the tangible love of Christ in Charity’s life, demonstrating that He is for her, that He has been with her all along, and that He will always make a way for her.
