Lucky is a precious girl from a village near our EWT Center. Both of her parents suffer from HIV/AIDS, and Lucky herself was born HIV positive. Within the last few years, her parents separated. Her mother moved away, and although her father remains nearby, he struggles with severe alcoholism and does not provide for his children. Lucky and her siblings work hard to make and sell bricks, but they rarely earn enough to meet the family’s basic needs. When we first visited this home, we found a desperate atmosphere marked by a complete lack of hope.
We were grateful to welcome Lucky into the EWT Child Sponsorship Program in 2016. She is a sweet and hardworking girl who is especially nurturing and caring toward other children. Her sponsorship has been a tremendous blessing in her life and has given her the opportunity to break free from the difficult circumstances she has grown up in.
Lucky has recently entered secondary school, which has provided her with a new safe space to live as well as the opportunity to continue her education. She now needs a boarding sponsor in addition to her education sponsor. By sponsoring Lucky, you will not only help provide stability and protection for her future, but you will also remind her that she is deeply loved and cared for.
