Janan is the third-born in a family of five children from Northern Uganda. His mother, Semmy, has struggled to provide for the household on her own since her husband died of Hepatitis B in late 2015. She yearned to give her children an education, but her deepest concern was how she would feed and clothe them; anything beyond that felt out of reach.
Janan has been in the EWT Child Sponsorship Program since 2017. He is an outgoing boy who performs well in school and is well-liked by those around him. Over the years, he has grown greatly in confidence and leadership. Semmy has also joined EWT’s Discipleship Program and is currently an active member.
Having Janan’s education provided has been a tremendous blessing for this family. However, their income remains unpredictable, and because Semmy has not remarried, she continues to raise the children singlehandedly.
Janan has now completed his primary years and needs a boarding sponsor to help with the additional costs that come with secondary school. By sponsoring Janan, you will not only support his continued education, but you will also remind this family that Jesus is still with them and always will be.
