Fredrick is the youngest in a family from Northern Uganda, and both of his parents have passed away. After the father’s death in 2014, the mother developed a strange illness, and for six years, the family grappled with her medical bills. She finally died in 2024, leaving Fredrick in the care of his eldest brother, Pius, a farmer who has been struggling to make ends meet.

Fredrick began studying at NISSI in P.2, but paying his school fees has always been a challenge for Pius. In the third term of P.7, Fredrick was unable to attend school because there was no money to send him. When school authorities noticed his absence—especially given his strong academic performance—they allowed him to return to class and sit for his exams while Pius searched for funds. Fredrick is known as a respectful, disciplined, and hardworking student.

When asked about plans for Fredrick’s continued education, Pius shared that he was considering selling a portion of their family’s garden land to cover the costs. However, because the land belongs to the clan, this would require their permission, and approval is often difficult to obtain. Pius recalls requesting permission to sell land after their father’s death so that he could study mechanics, but the clan declined.

Pius was unable to continue his own education and instead had to provide for the family through farming. He shared that if permission is denied again, Fredrick may have to remain at home until they are able to save enough money to send him back to school. By sponsoring Fredrick, you can secure his place in school, protect him from interruption in his education, and open the door to opportunities his brother never had. Your support will not only change Fredrick’s future, but will also bring relief, dignity, and renewed hope to an entire family.

Fredrick needs an education or boarding sponsor for $35/month, or both for $70/month.
