Abraham Omara

Grade: Secondary 1

Sex: Male

Location: Akalo, Northern Uganda

Sponsorship Need: Education/Boarding

Abraham is from a family in Northern Uganda and is the eldest of four children. His father serves as a village pastor, and he is frequently transferred from one parish to another. Because of this, the family does not have stable housing, and in many of the villages where he is transferred, there is little or no farmland available for their use. Because farming is their primary source of livelihood, this instability makes it extremely difficult to earn a steady income.

When Abraham began Primary 1, his father explained the challenges his family faced to the school – the frequent transfers and the lack of available farmland. Though it has required great sacrifice, he has managed to pay Abraham’s primary school fees over years. However, he has little hope of being able to afford secondary school. When asked about the plans for Abraham’s future, he shared that Abraham was going to have to remain at home for the year due to financial hardship.

Throughout primary school, Abraham was among the top performers in his class. He has demonstrated strong discipline both academically and personally, serving on the Gospel Team, participating in the radio mission, and acting as a discipleship leader. Sponsoring Abraham will allow this exceptional boy to continue his education uninterrupted and will provide renewed hope and encouragement to his devoted family.

Abraham needs an education or boarding sponsor for $35/month, or both for $70/month.
