Jireh Children’s Home 

 

Children all over Uganda live without adequate food, shelter, and education. Even more, they live without mothers or fathers or anyone else to hold them and give them security in life. With over two million orphans and an ever-growing number of destitute children, the call for help is great. 

 

As an answer to that call, we opened the doors to our first children’s home in December of 2010. It has truly been a joy to be the hands and feet of Christ in these precious little lives. The home, located in Kampala, will soon reach full capacity with twenty children. It is a pure delight to go there and experience the busyness, love, and laughter that abounds. The children are all growing in the Lord and are filled with grateful hearts. They love their new home, their wonderful mother (Moma Grace), and each other.

 

We are praying for God’s provision to purchase land in 2012 so that we can begin the first phase of an expansion that will eventually provide homes for 120 orphans and destitute children. It is a big goal but one that we can achieve through the provision and grace of our God. Jireh means “God will provide.”

Child Sponsorship Program

 

For many African children, an opportunity for education is beyond their reach, leaving them with little hope of breaking the cycle of poverty and oppression in their lives. Our child sponsorship program is an answer to that need. Adopt a School Program

 

 

God has opened the door for EWT to partner with schools in Uganda to improve the lives of children as we share the love of Christ.

 

We do this by:

   • Improving classroom conditions

   • Providing educational resources

   • Providing tuition, meals, and boarding for destitute children

   • Building mentoring relationships with the children

All over Uganda and East Africa, people are hungry for God’s Word but for many, it is beyond their reach. Therefore it is our joy and privilege to place copies of God’s Word in their hands. There is no greater gift in the world!

Christian Resource Center

 

Christian resources are greatly valued by African Christians because they are in such short supply in their part of the world. They are pleading for our help in making such things available to them.

 

EWT is developing a resource center in response to this need. The shelves are in place and we are slowly filling them with books, Bible study materials, videos, brochures, and other resources that will provide our brothers and sisters with the information and training that they so desperately want and need.

Bible Study Correspondence School

 

In 2009, we began to write a biblical curriculum to address the spiritual issues which are prevalent in the African culture. At this time, more than 5,000 students have worked through these books. We are now in the process of preparing the fourth book in the series.

 

It is our prayer that the teaching in these books continue to bring understanding and insight into the reality of God, His world, and His Word.
